Second in our Goddess series, Aster is not only a beautiful wildflower thought to represent love and purity, but according to mythology, the Goddess Astraea was so upset by how few stars there were in the dark night sky, that she began to cry. As she wept, her tears fell to earth and turned into star-shaped flowers. She named them Aster after herself, meaning star.
